Tyson Stelzer

Tyson Stelzer is the author and publisher of twelve wine books. He is a writer for America’s largest selling wine publication, Wine Spectator, the UK’s highest profile wine magazine, Decanter, Australia’s most respected wine mag, Gourmet Traveller Wine, and numerous other magazines. He pens the monthly wine page for Style Magazine and is a benchmark wine reviewer for WINE100. He is a contributor to The Oxford Companion to Wine Third Edition, which names him as the most prolific writer in the world on the topic of screw caps. As an international speaker, Tyson has presented at wine conferences in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan and the United Kingdom. He is a regular judge at wine shows in Australia including The National Wine Show of Australia, The Royal Melbourne Wine Show and The Sydney Royal Wine Show. He is a co-creator with UK wine writer Matthew Jukes of The Great Australian Red competition. Tyson is a winner of The Award for the Best Food and Wine Writing in The Australian Food Media Awards and a finalist for the International Wine and Spirit Competition’s Communicator of the Year and for The Best Food/Drink Guide Book in The Le Cordon Bleu World Food Media Awards.

Mark Folker is an environmental engineer and songwriter with a passion for wine and a palate which Tyson describes as ‘one of the best in Australia’. With experience in fine wine consulting and retail, Mark is confident in communicating and recommending wine. As a creative artist, he identifies with the notion of artistic expression through wine, while also pursuing environmental interests in climate change, sustainability, resource management, and their relevance to the wine world. Frequently tasting and travelling with Tyson, Mark has the privilege of tasting all of the top wines that Australia and New Zealand have to offer every year.
